Winners of the 37th edition of the tennis tournament "Perin Memorial"

After the successful completion of the Slavoj Greblo Memorial, the tennis excitement continued with the excellent game of the best tennis players under 18, and Vrsar once again confirmed its status as an attractive destination with excellent tennis results.

Last weekend, the 37th edition of the international tennis competition "Perin Memorial", the junior tournament of the first category of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), which was played in Vrsar, ended, and there was no lack of excitement and tension. In the men's category, the best Croatian junior Dino Prižmić won with a victory over the Frenchman Tiago Pires - 6: 2, 6: 1, while in the women's category won the Australian Open finalist, Belgium's Sofia Costoulas, who easily beat Czech Lucie Havličkova in the final - 6: 2, 6: 2.

Tense matches were also played in the doubles category, where Dino Prižmić and Tiago Pires won in the men's competition, and Lucija Ćirić Bagarić and Belgian Sofia Costoulas in the women's competition.

The Perin Memorial for juniors under 18 was held from March 26th to April 3rd in Vrsar, and this year it gathered as many as 200 players from 24 countries. This tennis tournament is the largest tennis event in Croatia and is one of 20 tournaments of its kind in the world. The organizers, the tennis club Galeb, the hotel company Maistra and the Vrsar Tourist Board, provided again excellent conditions for young tennis hopes.

All young competitors, coaches and escorts stayed at the Pineta Hotel in Vrsar, adapted to their sports needs, and many of them used their free time to visit many restaurants and taverns, where they got acquainted with traditional Istrian dishes.

As in the previously completed, well-known tournament "Memorial Slavoj Greblo", the matches were played on the courts of the Tennis Center Petalon in Vrsar, where some of the most famous names in the tennis world such as Marin Čilić, Ivan Ljubičić, Ivo Karlović and Goran Ivanišević started to build their careers. Today, recreationalists from all over the world meet here, participating in organized tennis schools and popular tennis camps, choosing Vrsar as an attractive place that offers ideal conditions for an active vacation throughout the year.

Thanks to numerous tennis courts, jogging trails, bicycle routes and playgrounds for volleyball, handball or football, but also excellent climatic conditions, the offer of sports and recreational tourism expands beyond the summer months, and the competitive spirit contributes to new sports events.
