Vrsar proudly wears the name of the “town of sculpture”. Every summer at the abandoned Montraker quarry, the “Montraker” International summer school of sculpture takes place. It takes place in the first two weeks in september. All the sculptures from previous workshops are now displayed on the beaches, at motor camps, the Vrsar waterfront and the city parks.

Nowadays the international sculpturing school is held every summer in the revived quarry “Montraker”.. Young sculptors from Croatia and abroad have been creating an original and profound art in an old and abandoned stone-pit Montraker since 1991. Open summer sculpture school, mentored by sculptor, offers a unique insight to tourists, into the process of the row stone redefinition into (three weeks later) unusual and in¬spired stone forms.
