In Vrsar, an international sports event combining competitive, educational, and training programs in wrestling will take place from April 17 to 25, 2026. The event will be held at the Saline Sports Hall as well as in the Belvedere and Pineta hotel complexes, and is expected to bring together more than 300 athletes, coaches, and technical staff from around fifteen countries across Europe and beyond.
Program Overview
The program is structured into three main segments: international wrestling training camps, an educational seminar for coaches and referees, and the international Wrestling Festival Tournament for U15 and U17 age groups. All activities will be conducted in accordance with the rules of United World Wrestling, with a focus on the development of young athletes and the advancement of professional expertise.
Training & Education
Throughout the camps, daily training sessions will be organized in morning and afternoon blocks under the guidance of internationally licensed coaches. The educational segment includes expert lectures and seminars aimed at applying modern training methodologies in wrestling. Special emphasis is placed on the promotion of women’s wrestling, supported by additional presentations and promotional activities.
Competition
The competitive part of the program will take place on Saturday, April 18, at the Valbruna Sports Hall in Rovinj, featuring young athletes and national teams from several European countries. The event will also be broadcast live via the official channels of the Croatian Wrestling Federation and UWW Europe.
Organization & Support
The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Croatia, the Croatian Olympic Committee, the Istria County Tourist Board, the Vrsar Tourist Board, as well as local sports clubs and a large number of volunteers.
