The bathing season has already begun a long time ago, so the implementation of the Bathing Sea Quality Monitoring Program has begun in the Istria County. The program is based on the Bathing Sea Quality Regulation, which is in line with the Bathing Water Quality Management Directive.
The regulation prescribes sea quality standards for swimming on the sea beach, limit values of microbiological indicators as well as other characteristics of the sea. The implementation of the Program is contractually entrusted to the Institute of Public Health of the County of Istria.
The bathing sea, based on the results of testing microbiological indicators for individual sampling, is classified as excellent and marked with a circular symbol on the map in blue, well marked on the map in green and satisfactorily yellow.
Based on the individual results of testing microbiological indicators at two measuring points or on 100% of samples, excellent bathing sea quality was recorded in the area of the municipality of Vrsar-Orsera.
