Festival "In the embrace of stone and sea"

In late August, the Montraker quarry in Vrsar will host the third edition of the festival “In the Embrace of Stone and Sea”. The gorgeous stage above the sea will see four exquisite musical performances.

It will kick off on 24 August at 9 pm with the legendary Bajaga i Instruktori. One of the most popular pop-rock bands from the former Yugoslavia, still admired today, will play some of its greatest hits for you: Tišina, Plavi safir, Godine prolaze…

The second evening with Tomislav Bralić & klapa Intrade, on 25 August, will also be a night to remember. The renowned Croatian multipart singing group will perform traditional Dalmatian songs in a romantic vein, such as Zora bila, Škrinja ljubavi, Zalutali pogled…

The third evening (26 August) is reserved for the guitar virtuoso Vlatko Stefanovski with the youngest backing band so far, performing as V3 trio. The audience will get to enjoy a selection of both his solo songs and hits of his rock band Leb i sol: Jovano Jovanke, Kao kakao, Mamurni ljudi, Čuvam noć od budnih…

The famous Gipsy Kings feat. Tonino Baliardo will close the festival on 27 August with their vibrant fusion of Spanish flamenco, rumba, salsa, pop and traditional Roma music, including the greatest hits such as: Bamboleo, Djobi Djoba, Volare, Baila Me, Bem Bem Maria, A Mi Manera…

The Montraker quarry is located on a peninsula northwest to the old town of Vrsar. Its size, location and historical relevance make it the most important quarrying site in the area.
