Profile, r. Timur Bekmambetov
Cyprus, Russia, UK, USA, 2018, 105 min
Language: English

Profile, from the acclaimed director Timur Bekmambetov, the director of the films Wanted, Ben-Hur and the producer of Hardcore Henry, is a tense thriller about a journalist on a secret mission whose goal is to expose the activities of the Islamic State on social networks. Especially the process of recruitment and radicalization of young women.
The movie Profile is a new and painful addition to the fast-growing sub-genre of films that take place entirely in a virtual space or in a computer monitor. Although it is a different film, no one will replace it with a documentary. Profile is one of the first films to recognize that the internet is already a scary enough place; that the ghosts do not have to be hidden under the bed or in the closet.
The added value and credibility of the film is given by the fact that the film was made entirely according to a true event.
