Three decades of music, togetherness and a love of singing
On Saturday, 14 November 2026, at 7:00 PM, Dvorana Saline in Vrsar will host a special anniversary concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the “Mendule” Women’s Choir. This festive musical event will honour three decades of dedication to choral singing, the preservation of musical traditions and the power of music to bring people together.
Founded in 1996, the “Mendule” Women’s Choir has developed a diverse repertoire throughout its years of activity, with a particular focus on the musical traditions of Istria and the northern Adriatic and Dalmatian regions, alongside classical and popular music. Through performances at cultural and tourism events, as well as the organisation of concerts and musical gatherings, the choir contributes to Vrsar’s cultural life and the preservation of its musical heritage.
The anniversary celebration will bring together numerous musical guests and friends, who will join the choir in making this special evening memorable. Alongside the hosts, the “Mendule” Women’s Choir, the performers will include Saša Dejanović, the Choir of the Italian Community of Vrsar – Orsera, the “Joakim Rakovac” Mixed Choir from Poreč, the “Nigrignanum” Women’s Ethno Vocal Ensemble from Kaštelir-Labinci, and the “Mate Balota” Cultural and Artistic Society from Rakalj.
The programme will also feature Professor Mladen Žmak, Joso Butorac and poet Tomislav Milohanić, adding further artistic and cultural depth to an evening dedicated to music, tradition and creativity.
A variety of vocal styles, choral harmonies, traditional folk music and special guest performances will come together in a programme celebrating the power of song to connect generations, communities and people. The “Mendule” choir’s 30th anniversary is also an opportunity for musical friends to reunite and to express gratitude to everyone whose voices, dedication and support have contributed to the choir’s journey over the past three decades.
