Taking pictures in Vrsar underwater, evaluating photos, awarding the best photographers
The 2026 Open National Underwater Photography Championship is a three-day event that brings together around fifty competitors and their models (assistants), all passionate about the sea, diving and photography.
The programme begins with the first day dedicated to participant registration and an introduction to the diving sites where the competition will take place. Participants have the opportunity to explore the underwater world and prepare for the photographic challenge ahead.
The main part of the event takes place on the second day, when the competition is held across dives at two spectacular locations. During the dives, photographers capture their entries, which are then submitted to a panel of expert judges for evaluation.
The third day is reserved for a group dive for all participants, followed by an informal get-together and a viewing of the photographs taken during the competition. The event concludes with the official awards ceremony and the announcement of the winners.
This unique event brings together art, sport and nature, offering both participants and visitors an unforgettable experience of the underwater world.
